HomeSecure customers in Kildare warned about burglary streak

In May we published a blog post warning our customers in Kildare that there had been a string of break-in’s around the county. These home intruders were generally targeting building equipment and tools. It has recently been brought to our attention that there has been another spate of burglaries in the Kildare area.

On Monday July 9th two homes in Newbridge were targeted. A mobile phone was stolen at one of these properties. This comes a few days after another home in Newbridge was ransacked and jewellery was taken including an engagement ring. Also, in the last week of June in Maynooth around €2,000 worth of jewellery was stolen.

As of yet we are unaware of whether these burglaries are related, but we warn HomeSecure customers and the wider public in the Kildare area to stay vigilant and stay on top of their home security.

The majority of these home intrusions were carried out through the back door. We’d like to remind all HomeSecure customers, especially ones in County Kildare that you can secure all your door sensors, even when you are home. When you activate the Stay mode, your perimeter sensors are live, but your internal sensors are disabled, so you can walk around your home without setting off the alarm, however you are secured if someone tried to gain entrance through a door or secured window.
