You may have seen HomeSecure.ie’s feature in the Sunday Independent yesterday, in case you missed it our CEO Colm Daly met up with the Sunday Independent’s Sean Gallagher to talk about the past, present and future of HomeSecure.ie and the alarm monitoring industry.

Colm told the former Dragon’s Den star how "Our focus to date has been on the residential housing market and our customers represent a mix of homeowners, landlords and tenants. Considering we are not even three years in business, we see our success to date as proof that we are delivering for our customers," says the company's CEO.

The Past

Sean recognised the partnerships as a key success factor of HomeSecure.ie to date stating “They teamed up with recognised and respected partners which gave them immediate credibility and from there worked incredibly hard to grow and scale the business”

This came in the form of three key areas:

Alarm monitoring: We partnered up with Chubb to do all of our alarm monitoring. They already had experience monitoring a large number of banks and Garda stations throughout Ireland, as well as thousands of residential homes.

Alarm product: We teamed up with UTC for our alarm panels. UTC are world renowned for their home security products and we have exclusive rights to sell their ZeroWire™ alarm system, which is the most sophisticated on the Irish market.

Engineers: For general industry knowledge and for installers we teamed up with contracting company Abbeywatch and their founder Richard Boland.

Thus, HomeSecure was born.

The Present

Sean and Colm discussed where HomeSecure.ie is today, recognising the challenges and rewards along the way.

"The residential alarm-monitoring sector was traditionally very fragmented with one dominant player and no obvious number two. Our view was that this should not be seen as a premium product and so we saw a gap in the market to offer a quality and innovative service but at more affordable pricing for homeowners," says Colm

“We currently have over 9,000 customers, and we will hit the 10,000 landmark this year. We’ve 26 full-time staff and indirectly employing a further 60 people with our subcontracted engineers and our outsourced direct sales and event teams. We pride ourselves being 100% Irish-owned and on becoming the biggest fully Irish monitored alarm company in less than three years”.

“We currently have the most sophisticated alarm panel on the Irish market, it has a sleek design, easy to use functions, emergency service buttons and comes with a smartphone app”.

The Future

While not dwelling too long on the current success, HomeSecure CEO Colm Daly has painted a clear picture for the future of his business.

“We believe that home automation will go hand-in-hand with your alarm system in the future. We want our customers to have a Smart home, when they can control their lights, heating, hot water and alarm system. We aspire to make home alarm monitoring more affordable and to have Irish homes one step ahead of the burglars”, insists Colm.

This is why partnerships, with other industry leading technology partners, is key to HomeSecure.ie’s past, present and future success.
