Burglars force their way into two homes in Wexford within 5 days

The Wexford People reported on two homes in Wexford being targeted for burglary in the second week of November. The first home that was targeted for burglary was in Ballintarton in Taghmon area on November 5th.

The homeowners were not in the property the evening that the burglars struck, they only stumbled upon the scene of the crime the subsequent day. The perpetrators entered the property through a bedroom window which was located at the rear of the house. We know that 24% of burglaries are through a rear window. The burglars searched the property extensively looking for any valuables. No arrests have been made.

The second burglary happened in Wexford on November 9th it was in Tower Court in Westgate area. The criminals entered the property through the front door, having successfully damaged the door and forcing entry to the home. Did you know that the most common entry point is through the front door? A whopping 33% of burglaries are through this area. The Gardaí have yet to ascertain whether anything was taken from the property, there is evidence that every room was thoroughly ransacked.

We advise our customers to always set their alarm in Away Mode when leaving their home.This will provide your home with internal and perimeter protection.
